HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
JANUARY MEETING Thursday, January 4, 2024, 7:00 pm
Dinner meeting at 6:00 pm at the IAVC. Shrewsbury. $8 pp
LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT: You are most likely receiving this notice Post Christmas. We sincerely hope Christmas was joyful with family and friends enjoying each other’s company. As we enter 2024, with great expectations and hope for a happy, healthy, and successful year. Our Lodge has a busy, winter and spring for our lodge. Thank you for being a part of it, attending meetings, attending or helping with functions or just reading our notices. I thank you all for the support, the support of the officers, and the support of the committee chairs. I may be President, but you make the lodge look good. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!!! This meeting will be our first of the new year, we will complete our business from December, have the calendar raffle and a short wine tasting. We need to know who is attending to be accurate. CALANDER RAFFLE: This will be held at the January meeting. It’s an opportunity to win more than it costs, final sales will be on at the door or see Nancy Gurgone.
CHRISTMAS CHARITY: A report on the success of our charity will be given by Rich Trubiano. We certainly put a lot of smiles on a lot of sad children. THANK you!!!
PITCH: Pitch at the IAVC is in week 9, all is going well, and everyone is having fun. To those players, please remember that Caterer Paul has provided food for the evening. Try to support and enjoy.
CARNEVALE: Scheduled for February 10th, to be held at St John High School Hall. Nancy and Rocco have been working tirelessly to plan a great night for us and will report and finalize the event.
FEBRAURY MEETING: We had a successful October presentation of Italians in Shrewsbury. This meeting we will have a presentation by someone of the evolvement of Shrewsbury Street Italians and the life back then. Should be an enjoyable night.
MEMBERSHIP: We still need to move forward with membership. We had a wonderful year last year in adding to our membership. We always could use it more. If anyone knows of a person thinking of becoming a member, please bring them to a dinner in January or February.
HEALTH AND WELFARE: Thank you to Ellie for all she does! I continue to remind you all that if you know of a lodge member who is ill, infirmed or has passed, please let Sister Ellie Olivieri know at (508) 845-1272, so that she may send them a card and let them know we care. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
